The basics
These terms cover artifactelectrics.com and anything you buy from or have done by Artifact Electrical Instrument Co. LLC (“Artifact Electrics,” “we,” “us”) in Omaha, Nebraska. By using the site, placing an order, or leaving an instrument with us, you agree to them. How we handle your information is covered separately in our Privacy Policy.
Ordering an Artifact
Price and payment. The price is the one shown at checkout. You pay in full by card through Stripe, or finance the purchase through Affirm or Klarna, whose own terms apply to that financing. Your order holds a place in the first batch, which is limited to 25 instruments.
Confirming your build. After you order, we'll email you to lock in finish, woods, pickguard, pickups, and frets. Custom specs are quoted first and billed by Stripe invoice once you confirm them.
Delivery. First-batch instruments ship 4 to 6 months after your order. That's an estimate, not a guarantee, and we'll keep you updated as your build progresses.
Handmade means variation. Every Artifact is built by hand from natural materials, so grain, color, and figure will differ from the photos on this site. Finish aging and relicing are applied by hand and no two are alike. We don't offer perfect factory-clean finishes. The online configurator is a visual guide only.
Cancellations and refunds
You can cancel for a full refund at any time before the build on your instrument starts. Once the build has started, orders can't be cancelled or refunded. Refunds go back to your original payment method. If you financed through Affirm or Klarna, the refund is applied through them.
Lifetime warranty
Every new Artifact carries a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for its original owner. If something we built fails, contact us and we'll repair or replace it, at our choice.
The warranty doesn't cover normal wear (frets, strings, finish wear, and the aging that comes from playing), damage from accidents, drops, misuse, or extreme heat, cold, or humidity, or problems caused by modifications or repairs done by anyone other than us. It doesn't transfer to later owners.
Repair and restoration work
Quotes. We quote every job before starting. Every quote includes return shipping. If we find something during the work that changes the scope or the price, we'll contact you before doing anything you didn't approve.
Our guarantee. We guarantee our workmanship for one year from the date we return your instrument. If work we did fails in that time, we'll make it right at no charge. The guarantee covers the work we performed, not other parts of the instrument, and it doesn't cover normal wear, accidental damage, or later work by someone else.
Our designs and content
The Artifact name and triangle logo, our instrument and hardware designs, and the photos, writing, and Design Notes on this site belong to Artifact Electrics. You're welcome to share links to our pages. Please don't copy, reproduce, or sell our designs or content without written permission.
Information on this site
We work to keep specs, prices, and availability accurate, but they can change and mistakes happen. If an error affects your order, we'll contact you before going further.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim connected to a purchase or service is limited to the amount you paid us for it, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Douglas County, Nebraska.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect when you place an order or drop off an instrument is the one that applies to it.
